Delete photos from My Photo Stream
You can delete photos from My Photo Stream on your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch and Mac.
What happens when you delete photos?
When you delete a photo from My Photo Stream, it will be deleted from the My Photo Stream view on all of your supported devices after you've connected each device to the Internet via Wi-Fi or an Ethernet cable.
When you remove photos from My Photo Stream, the following types of photo won't be deleted:
- Photos that you've copied to the Library tab or Recents Album on your iOS device
- Photos that you've imported into the Photos app
- Photos that you've copied into a folder on your PC that aren't part of My Photo Stream
After you've deleted a photo, you may still see it on your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch if it's more than 30 days old and you have fewer than 1,000 photos in My Photo Stream.
Delete photos
Follow the steps below to delete photos from My Photo Stream.
On your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch
- Open the Photos app.
- Tap the Albums tab.
- Tap My Photo Stream.
- Tap Select.
- Tap one or more photos. You'll see a tick on the photos that you select.
- Tap the Bin button
. Tap Delete [number] Photos.
On your Mac
- Open the Photos app.
- Click the My Photo Stream album in the sidebar.
- Click the photos you want to delete.
- Go to Image in the menu bar > Remove [number] Photos from Album.
You can also click the photo, right-click, then select Delete Photo.
If you can't see My Photo Stream
Make sure your device meets the minimum system requirements for My Photo Stream and that My Photo Stream is turned on for each device:
- On your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch, tap Settings > [your name] > iCloud > Photos. If you're using iOS 10.2 or earlier, tap Settings > iCloud > Photos.
- On your Mac, open the Photos app, then choose Photos > Preferences > iCloud.
- On your Apple TV, select Settings > Users and Accounts > [default user].
- On your PC, open iCloud for Windows, click Photos or Photo Stream, then click the Options button.
If My Photo Stream isn't turned on, delete photos from the Photos app instead.
